Myanmar traditional cane ball team on Thursday
began joint training with those from Cambodia and Malaysia which are preparing
for upcoming 27th SEA Games, according to sports circle.
Cambodian and Malaysian cane ball teams show strong interest in joint
training with Myanmar's.
There will be 38 selected cane ball players in the intensive training session
of three countries -- host Myanmar, Cambodia and Malaysia.
Cambodia cane ball team will make up its training session till the end of SEA
Games while Malaysia's will take just a week-training.
Last month, Myanmar Cane Ball Federation dispatched national cane ball
coaches to Cambodia, Singapore, Laos and Malaysia.
Eight categories of cane ball competitions for men and women will be added at
the 27th SEA Games and teams Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore
are expected to participate in the event.
The SEA Games will be hosted in three main cities -- Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon,
Mandalay and Ngwehsaung Beach starting from Dec.11 to 22 this year.
